Silica Analysis
Respirable Silica, Whole Rock, and Materials by XRD
X-Ray Diffraction analysis (XRD): A mechanism for identifying both the type and quantity of crystalline materials.
Our AIHA-LAP, LLC Accredited Industrial Hygiene Laboratory is highly qualified to perform diffraction analysis of minerals, environmental samples, and materials. The XRD department has top-notch geologists, materials scientists, and mineralogists on staff, and perhaps the finest X-Ray Diffractometer system currently being manufactured in the world. SAI stands well beyond capable of detecting and identifying all crystalline mineral phases of your samples.
We boast unparalleled silica analysis by the NIOSH 7500 or OSHA ID 142 methods. Our state-of-the-art X’Pert PRO XRD was custom-manufactured in Holland specifically for SAI by PANalytical (formerly Phillips). The patented X’ Celerator detector scans samples that used to take hours in only minutes, and allows us to quantify the exact mass of SiO2 in relation to the mass of total dust, down to 0.000005 grams (5 micrograms).
We know of no other environmental contract laboratory that can offer this level of professional scientific analysis and sample turnaround time (TAT) for these methods.
XRD may also accompany analysis by optical and electron microscopy for full materials characterization. We would be happy to discuss how XRD may benefit your organization and are ready and capable to provide superior quality analyses for your routine environmental, materials, and Industrial Hygiene samples.
Working in partnership with your business, you will find SAI, Inc has a professional demeanor and extensive experience that provides peace of mind, proven stability, and the sense of urgency that can only be equated with the most adept of businesses in your company directory.
